Types of Bodywork
Massage
Massage is great for relaxation as well as warming up muscles for deeper work. I tend to have medium to deep pressure, depending on what your body needs. Its also good for getting movement in the lymph and circulatory systems.
Thai Massage
While I no longer have space for a Thai Mat I am still practicing table Thai. Thai focus's on warming tissue, acupressure, joint mobility, and stretches to open up the channels in the body and balance the elements within.
Craniosacral Therapy
This is a more subtle style of bodywork that focus's on unwinding the body. This could be bigger movements like working on a shoulder or hip joint or more subtle work with the plates in the skull of facial bones. It is also great energy work for the nervous system.
Scar Tissue
MSTR Scar tissue work helps to realign the collagen fibers that make up scar tissue in new or old scars. This helps them and the tissue bellow to become more pliable so that they move with you, instead of you moving around your scar.
Structural Integration
A deeper form of myofascial work that looks at postural and movement patterns and works to unstick the spots that bind us to these patterns.
Abdominal Massage
Here we work with the muscles, fascia, and organs in the abdomen. This is helpful for hip and low back pain, digestive issues, bowel irregularity, menstrual or uterine pain, diaphragm and rib releases for mid-back pain and increased breath.
Intra-Oral and Breast Massage
While these two are not forms of bodywork on their own they are two endorsements I hold and can apply any of the other forms of bodywork that I do to these areas if it is called for and you would like that.
